Tomlinson named Busco’s ‘Firefighter of the Year’

Churubusco Firefighter Chris Tomlinson was honored for 32 years of service to the community. During his tenure with the department Tomlinson served from 1991 to 2023 and served in the capacity as Fire Chief for 2012, 2013 and 2014 and also served as Assistant Chief in 1997 and 2022. Tomlinson received 10 department citations for actions taken on scene and was 1 of 6 firefighters to receive the Sons of the American Revolution Fire Commendation Award for actions taken in 2006.

Last Monday, November 13, 2023, Tomlinson was presented a gold retiree badge and was awarded the 2023 Firefighter of the Year award. Tomlinson’s wife, Kim, his mother, Peggy, sister, Shanelle, and nephew, Corbin, were in attendance.
