Thorncreek Township Trustee Bill Brice and Doug Dewitt of the Thorncreek Township Fire Department delivered a very special gift to the community’s future firefighters — contributing a cascade system to the Columbia City High School fire training program.

A cascade system is a crucial piece of equipment used by firefighters to refill their air tanks while battling blazes. This donation is invaluable for young firefighters in training, as it allows them to learn firsthand how to efficiently manage their air supply during emergency situations. Learning to operate a cascade system prepares them for real-life scenarios, ensuring they’re equipped with the skills and knowledge to tackle fires safely and effectively.

The generosity of the Thorncreek Township Fire Department and the Thorncreek Township Trustee is greatly appreciated, as it enhances the educational experience and professional development of our community’s future firefighters.
