So what’s ‘City Swap’ on June 15?!

From reports

The City of Columbia City is designating this Sunday, June 15 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. as City Swap.

But, what is City Swap?!

Think of it as a FREE garage sale. Maybe you had a garage sale, and everything didn’t sell. Or maybe you simply don’t have the time or energy to hold a garage sale, but you have gently used items to get rid of. City Swap is the perfect opportunity to set out items by the curb, and residents can take your items for free!

All the rules for City Swap are listed below and will help ensure this is a successful event:

• Put out items that are in fair, good, or excellent condition. All items should be in working/usable condition.

• If you have items you’d like to give away, you should set them out by the curb in your yard.

• You may not put items in other residents’ yards.

• Examples of items to put out: books, clothing, blankets, shoes, houseware, tools, sports equipment, toys, etc.

• Leave yards as you found them. Do not leave someone’s yard a mess.

• Use your own discretion in poor weather conditions when deciding whether to set items out.

• Do not set items out by the curb unless you are giving them away for free.

• Do not set items out earlier than 8 a.m. on June 15, 2024.

• You are responsible to remove any items from the curb that are not picked up by 8 p.m. on June 15. The City will NOT pick up these items for you.
