Retired police chief’s grave damaged; police asking for information

Columbia City Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the person or person’s responsible for damaging a grave in Greenhill Cemetery.

According to the Columbia City Police Department, a retired and now deceased police chief’s badge was removed from the headstone and taken, leaving behind damage as well.

The theft and desecration of the headstone has caused significant disappointment and sadness among the department and community.

A $500 reward is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest. Additionally, an anonymous donor is matching the reward, so the total reward for information leading to an arrest is $1,000.
