Police investigation results in seizure of meth, arrest

The Columbia City Police Department, along with the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department conducted an investigation that yielded over 150 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, and recovered over $4000 in cash.

Officers were conducting a counter-drug patrol when they located drug items in a vehicle. During the investigation, officers found that a person of interest had an active arrest warrant for drug related charges.

Officers requested and received a search warrant for the dwelling where the individual was staying at that time. During the execution of the search warrant, over 150 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana and over $4,000 in cash were located. Officers also located two individuals and a juvenile.

The CCPD wants to thank and recognize the officers and deputies who investigated this case. These public safety officers not only stopped the trafficking of methamphetamine on the streets of Columbia City and Whitley County, but also removed a juvenile from a dangerous situation.

All suspects in this case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
