(The Hoot News images provided) The 2024 Cooperative Calendar of Student Art is out and, of course, Whitko students are featured, as they have been every year since 2001. Cate Dekena’s scratch board portrait of a tiger kitty tops the September page for “Happy Cat Month.”

Justine Ocken’s rider, horse and dog splash through a colored pencil stream for the November art feature. Her piece was also named the calendar’s Best of Show. She received an honorable mention as did Makenna Krause. They are all students of Whitko Junior Senior High School art teacher Daniel Malicki.
