In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude and community support, the Veterans Marathon proudly announced its annual donations. This year, proceeds from the Veterans Marathon have been given to American Legion Post 157 in Churubusco and the Whitley County EMS. The contributions stem from the Memorial Day Mile, Veterans Marathon, Half Marathon and Heroes 5k events. The organization extends its sincere appreciation to all participants and donors who made this philanthropic endeavor possible.
As promised, the Veterans Marathon allocated 50% of its profits to a local Veterans organization and 25% to a Heroes group. This year’s beneficiaries were American Legion Post 157 and the Whitley County EMS, receiving substantial sums to further their noble initiatives.
American Legion Post 157 Churubusco was presented with a generous donation of $4,748.52, aimed at supporting their commendable efforts in training service dogs for Veterans. This financial boost will undoubtedly contribute to enhancing the quality of life for those who have served our country.
The Whitley County EMS received a significant contribution of $2,369.26, earmarked for community CPR training. This investment in education and preparedness aligns with the organization’s commitment to fostering a safer and more resilient local community.
With these latest contributions, the Veterans Marathon proudly boasts a cumulative donation total of $31,321.41 since the year 2020. This remarkable achievement reflects the ongoing dedication of the event organizers and the unwavering support of the community.
Looking ahead, the Veterans Marathon is excited to announce the opening of registration for the 2nd Annual Memorial Day Mile and the 16th Annual Veterans Marathon, which will be held on November 7, 2024, complete with early bird pricing. Details on registration will be made available soon, inviting individuals to participate in these meaningful events while supporting worthy causes in the process.
