This afternoon, Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at approximately 2 p.m., the Columbia Township Fire Department was dispatched to assist Union Township Fire Department on a vehicle crash with injury at US 30 and 300 East.

Units arrived to find a semi tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle with only minor injury. The units were assisted with roadway cleanup and stood by until Smith Bros. Towing could upright the semi trailer that was hauling steel.

The crash is under investigation by the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department.
