Due to a nationwide AT&T phone service outage this morning, the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department is offering some suggestions for those who may not be able to make calls in an emergency.
“This may have an impact the use of incoming 911 calls from AT&T phones. We do not have any updated information on when this going to be fixed,” they reported on social media this morning.
“We are still receiving 911 and admin line calls from other phone services as well as a few from AT&T phones. However, if you are unable to get through to our regular admin number (260) 244-6410 option 1 or 911, or you can try texting into 911 as well. Turning on your WiFi may allow you to make calls and send text messages,” they added.
