At 12:53 p.m. today, multiple fire departments responded to a significant wheat field fire near Pook Road and CR 350 West. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered large flames and heavy smoke covering the area.
Thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department, Cleveland Township Fire Department, Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department, and Columbia Township Fire Department, the fire was brought under control within approximately 30 minutes.
The blaze affected around 40 acres of the wheat field, but no injuries or significant structural damage have been reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
