From reports
Amy DuBois & Jess Burkett from Giving Gardens of Indiana will be hosting a Wild Herbs walk in the woods on Saturday, May 11, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in Morsches Park in Columbia City. They will meet in the outdoor pavilion by pond in the back of the park.
It’s spring and the woods are coming alive with Wild Herbs both edible and medicinal. Finding and harvesting wild herbs for yourself and your family can be fun and nutritious and an inexpensive way to take care of our health. Amy and Jess will share some basics about safely and honorably harvesting Wild Herbs from Mother Nature as we walk through the woods to discover what is abound!
You will learn basic knowledge about foraging and you will receive a nature journal for note taking on our hike and handout and hot tea made with our wild herbs.
The walk is for people ages 13 and older. The cost is $15 per person and you must register and pay by May 8 to reserve a spot.
