At approximately 5:30 p.m. Monday evening, the Columbia Township and Richland Township fire departments were dispatched to the 3200 block of west US 30 on a reported vehicle fire.

First arriving units found a passenger car fully engulfed in flames. The vehicle and surrounding vegetation were extinguished and units cleared the scene within an hour. No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened. Sheriff’s deputies had westbound US 30 down to one lane while crews worked.

The fire remains under investigation.
