This evening at approx. 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, the Columbia Township Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle crash with reported injury in the 4300 block of south SR 9. The first arriving units found a two vehicle crash with one vehicle on its side. CTFD units assisted with patient removal from the overturned vehicle, roadway cleanup and stood by until one vehicle was uprighted. Patients were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries by Parkview Whitley EMS. SR 9 was closed for about 45 minutes. Also assisting at the scene were Smith Bros. and B&D towing. The crash is under investigation by Whitley County Sheriff’s Department.
