On Monday evening, while returning to quarters from training, Columbia Township Fire Department was dispatched to assist Jefferson & Washington Township fire departments on a reported fire in a commercial structure In the 5800 block of east State Road 14.

The first crews to arrive from Jefferson and Washington found a fire that had been extinguished by the sprinkler system and found no extension. Columbia Township firefighters assisted with doing a search. All building occupants were able to evacuate and no injuries were reported.

Also assisting were Union Township Fire Department and Parkview Whitley EMS. Cleveland Township Fire Department was placed on stand by for coverage during the incident.
