As we approach the celebration of our country’s 250th birthday on July 4, 2026, Whitley County’s Colonel Augustin de la Balme Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will honor that commemoration as they dedicate a ‘Liberty Tree’ on the Whitley County Courthouse lawn. The dedication will take place on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 2 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
